Camden Tree Planting

September 29, 2007

Explorer Post 226 recently partnered for a community service project with the NJ Tree Foundation, which donated hundreds of trees to be planted through neighborhoods in Camden.  Explorer Post 226 personnel dug holes and planted trees to help improve the area around Ramona Gonzalez Street in the city.  This was a very worthwhile community service project that we hope to assist with again, as future tree plantings are in the works.  Following the tree planting, explorers were treated to a tour of and lunch on the Battleship U.S.S. New Jersey, located on the Camden Waterfront.
